Chiklihole Dam is a tiny reservoir next to the town of Nanjarayapattana, which is located 7 km from Dubare, 15 km from Kushalnagar, and 24 km from Madikeri. It is a well-liked tourist destination in Coorg.In the Cauvery basin of Karnataka, the river Chiklihole is crossed by the Chiklihole Reservoir. It was constructed in 1985 with the intention of providing irrigation to the local settlements. 865 hectares of land rely on the reservoir to meet their water needs. The dam is 464.8 meters long and 25.3 meters tall, with a total storage capacity of 5.097 mcm.

Visitors are drawn in by the dam's distinctive form alone. The dam is round in shape and has no crest gates. Visitors are treated to an amazing sight as the water overflows like foam over a curved structure due to the increase in intake. A pleasant location for spending a few memorable moments with your family and friends can be found in the region surrounding Chiklihole Reservoir due to its abundance of lush foliage and the rich fauna and flora of the forest nearby. From the dam, you may enjoy a beautiful sunset view. The lush woodlands and wide-open spaces provide for fantastic picnic locations.

The location is rural, thus there are no stores or shops that provide any sort of amenities to travelers. If visitors intend to unwind for a day or even a few hours by the dam, they should bring food, drink, and snacks.

The monsoon and winter (June to March) seasons are ideal for visiting the dam because of the good weather and rising water levels.
